Client: Henry Community Health

Henry Community Health (HCH) needed a complete UX for healthcare overhaul for their website to better serve patients and job seekers.

HCH’s PR and marketing team sought an experienced healthcare web design and development partner to revamp their site with intuitive navigation and streamlined functionality. They also wanted to strengthen their recruitment efforts in the competitive healthcare market by making career opportunities more visible and appealing.

Q&A

HCH’s marketing specialist, Bethany Young, answered questions about this UX for healthcare website project. Her responses, below, have been condensed.

What problems did the previous HCH website have?

Young: Our former website looked dated but we also had feedback from users that they were struggling to find what they needed because the former site wasn’t built with growth in mind. HCH needed a UX for a healthcare-focused website redesign solution to support our organization’s growth over the next 5 to 10 years. Our new site’s architecture and structure better suits our needs, and its flexible templates allow us to make edits easily, unlike before.

With so many web design agencies in Indianapolis, what made TBH Creative stand out as the right partner for this project?

Young: From the beginning, everyone on the TBH Creative team was honest with us and willing to jump in to help us figure out a problem. We truly started with no idea how our previous website was working and needed a new website that was more patient-focused, better supported employee recruitment, and easier for us to manage content. TBH Creative never hesitated and was willing to help us literally start from scratch. I also appreciate their friendliness. They’re a pleasure to work with.

What aspects of TBH Creative’s process or services made the biggest impact on your team and your patients?

Young: Conducting interviews with users from our target audiences to hear firsthand what they wanted was a game changer. These website persona research insights helped us figure out from the patient and employee perspective what mattered most to them, helping us more easily make decisions to best support their needs.

What surprised you most about the project?

Young: HCH didn’t want to completely rebrand the organization, so I knew it was going to be difficult to create a redesigned website that looks fresh and vibrant, but TBH Creative was up for the challenge and created a solution that was beyond our greatest expectations. I love how the new design uses our brand basics, but expands them and brings them to life with custom icons, bold color use, new elements, and modern design patterns.

Would you recommend TBH Creative to other healthcare organizations?

Young: Oh yes—actually, I already have. At a conference, a colleague from another hospital mentioned they were looking to redesign their website, and I raved about how awesome TBH Creative is, emphasizing the team’s expertise and how they pretty much held our hands through the whole process. It was great.

Any final thoughts about this UX for healthcare website redesign project?

Young: Working with TBH Creative as a partner for this project has been a dream. Since our first call to the website launch, they helped us find a solution we thought was going to take us years to figure out. I greatly appreciate the team’s willingness to talk us through every step of the process, their expertise, and how much they taught me. Thank you to every at TBH Creative!
